#27 The Sunday Stretch
The Valentines gift I bought for myself & other things I'm loving right now
If you’ve been here since day 1 you’ll know that these lists were a regular feature and I’m not quite sure why I moved away from them. No doubt some existential crisis about the world and the internalised guilt of enjoying material things…. sigh.
But despite the time lapse between then and now, this is #27 in The Sunday Stretch series which is a round up of the things I’m loving right now to ease the stretch of life. Products, places, people - the mundane to the exceptional, these lists are designed to gift you with some inspo if feeling “Stretched to Fuck” by life and in need of some care. {Yes, care… for you}
This week I’m sharing
The book that has finally brought me back into the habit of reading every night again.
The hair products bringing moisture back to my dry straw hair.
The pod I’ve been binging this week.
Simple spring fashion to add into your wardrobe
Words to ground you in a world on fire
& my valentines gift of choice
I hope you find something here to love.

Before doomscrolling became a thing, there was a good book.
I would read for hours if allowed, fully immersed in a world away from here. It changed when I had my 2nd baby. I was creating everymum pod and with 3 yr old in lockdown, breastfeeding at night became the only down time I had to pick up my phone and relate to the world. And the habit left me. But whatever about blue light, my nervous system can’t handle watching the world’s descent into chaos so close to slumber so books are back! Hurray.
The Midnight Library, by Matt Haig
Published in 2021, I’ve no doubt you’ve read it, but it’s been sitting on my kindle for years and instead of sending more money to Bezos I decided to read what I have already. It’s gentle, it’s engaging, it suits my brain that can’t follow complicated fear mongering text at 11pm. “An uplifting, poignant novel about regret, hope and second chances” Nora’s choices have made me reflect on my own and how every small decision has led you to the life you live. A life I wouldn’t change and now see sprinkles of gratitude for the mistakes and regrets that got me here.
I’m a dry hair girl. I’m also a coloured dry hair curly girl. In Ireland. With a dog that is walked there times a day. all of this to say, I’m in a winter frizz bomb of hair hell. The stunner Katrina Kelly Perry owner of Cut Social did an insta Q box and I asked her for some product advice and she directed me to the Joico range which in one wash has taken the frizz way down.
I wash and condition with the HydroSplash range and run a treatment once a week with the K-Pac Colour Therapy Luster Lock
The Key For Her Collagen is also without a doubt contributing to stronger better quality hair - something I have to work very very very hard at. You can use the code STRETCH for 20% off your first order. #sponsors of last season of stretch marks pod.
