6 things keeping me sane in a world gone mad.
Other than my dog and seeing the seeds of resistance
Welcome to Stretch Marks
A newsletter for stretched women in their era of seeing the bigger picture, loving themselves deeply and screaming for a better world written by me Sinead O’Moore - an award winning podcaster, business founder and champion of women.
Here, you’ll find a mix of my life, my views, my rants and the stuff that deserves a mention for making me feel good in a world designed to sell us nonsense and tear us down.

Ugh.
I won’t dwell on everything.
We know it all. We see it all. I can’t physically cope with it all.
So if you’re there with me, here is a compilation of very normal things that are keeping me sane.
These are like popping a nurofen for a headache when you need brain surgery.
They are not designed to actually fix the existential crisis (plural).
1) Ethos CBD Oil
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this drop of spearmint under my tongue every night has been the only thing permitting me to sleep lately.
I’ve seen so much in this past week alone that has broken my heart and sent fear through my veins that would keep me up at night. And while I don’t wish to sleep soundly with so much distress in the world, I also need to keep showing up in my life with energy and the dregs of hope.
CBD Oil is a product derived from the cannabis family – but no I’m not on pot or weed as my mother keeps asking.
CBD is a non-intoxicating compound and in no way causes a high – is completely legal and has proven effects including pain relief, relaxation and managing anxiety.
I challenge anyone to be living in 2025 and not feel a pang of anxiety, an ever present knot of dread in our stomachs and an ache for peace. But I also refuse to crumble because we need us all reverberating positive light (and fight) to turn the tide. So lean in to whatever it is that brings you meaning and calm, the grounds you into this little life we have been gifted and that makes you feel safe to roar.
My current CBD of sleepy choice is the Irish brand Ethos REST CBD oil.
It promises to help you unwind and naturally wake up feeling restored. It’s combined with gentle Chamomile extract, organically grown Hemp, premium botanicals and is vegan and gluten free.
2) Read a book not the internet
I am torn between wanting to stay informed and wanting to stay sane.
But there is no doubt a correlation between doom scrolling at 1am with fear in my heart and a complete sense of hopelessness. So, I’ve started reading actual books again.
Two books I have not been able to put down are:
