Very transitional.
Very autumnal.
Very de—monstrative that the season has changed.
*and that’s as close as I’ll get to this very annoying demure trend.
Despite being a summer gal at heart, September is one of my favourite months because it always pleasantly surprises, unlike July and August which talks a BIG game and leaves us wanting.
September is consistent, she tries hard, she brings forgotten comfort and very often bright skies and fresh air. But more than that - she teaches us that’s ok to let go, it’s ok to shed the old, that there is beauty in change and it’s ok to go inwards. Nothing blooms all year round, and neither should we.
She also brings a HEAP of new fashion, routines, food and skincare.
It can feel a lot - like we need to become whole new personas of ourselves for such a brief window before we must again transform in sequinned Mariah Careys freezing our asses off in our red lips and winged liners.
But she is wholesome , nourishing, and after a summer of lashing rain, snack plates and working from the carpark of local sports clubs, she is quite literally a breath of fresh air.
And if you’re interested in what I’m loving/buying/wearing/using/doing right now, here is a list of what’s bringing me big autumn energy this year.
